    Unanswered: Hide options

How can I hide my database design options after a user log in to the program. I got a user form for username and password, that when the user enters his username and pass it opens a menu form, but my database design options is opening. What can I do to correct this problem?

    Thanks,

    Luis

    Hi Luis,

    Open the databse.
From the Tools menu select startup
On that dialog box, turn off what you don't want the user to have access to ... menu's toolbars etc ... database container ...

    Cheers

    Red face Not working

It did not work, it keeps opening my database design options. I uncheck everything in the start up options, but when I enter my user nad password it opens my menu form and my database design options.

How are you launching the form that come up. Do you have an autoexec macro.
if so, does it do anything else other than open the form. If you are using autoexec, and it is not doing anything but open a form then rename it to OldAutoExex.

Set the following options on the startup forms

    Application Title - leave blank
Display Form - select the form that is to open when the database opens
    Application Icon - leave blank
    Display Database Window - unticked
    Display Status Bar - unticked
    Menu Bar/Shortcut - unticked
    Allow Full menus - unticked
Allow default shourt cut menus - unticked
allow built in toolbars - unticked
    Allow Toolbars/menu changes - unticked

Allow viewing code after error- unticked
    Use access special keys.- unticked

    Shutdown database and reopen...

    hope that this works...

    Hi Luis,

I had a look at your code. I have modified your code. There was a select object code that was bringing up the form.

I have reattached the modified database. The code is in the frmStartUp, under the continue button.

Hope that this helps. Have a nice weekend.
