    Question Unanswered: Oracle Managed Files

    Hello all,

What would be the steps in creating an Oracle 9i database on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server PC using OMF (Oracle Managed Files) and not Database Configuration Assistant? Assume that Oracle is already installed, just the database needs to be created.

    Kind regards.

    Simply set

    db_create_file_dest
    db_create_online_log_dest_1
    db_create_online_log_dest_2
    db_create_online_log_dest_3
    db_create_online_log_dest_4
    db_create_online_log_dest_5

    in your init.ora file

To the directories you want Oracle to place your ORacle managed files.

    Where
    db_create_online_log_dest_2
    db_create_online_log_dest_3
    db_create_online_log_dest_4
    db_create_online_log_dest_5
    are optional
