    Unanswered: tempdb transaction log

    Hello,

I am experiencing a massive growth of the tempdb log... 15GB. What would be the best way to capture the culprit here? How can I see what transaction is cuasing the growth?

    Thanks.

The TEMPDB is a temporary space for processes check that Truncate log on checkpoint is enable (SQL 7.0) or that Recovery Model is Simple(SQL 2000) and the processe that is filling your TEMPDBLOG must be optimized executing update in batch like this :

    set rowcount 1000
    while 1=1
    begin
DELETE FROM customers WHERE cust_num LIKE '%8009______'
    IF @@rowcount = 0
    BREAK
    ELSE
    CHECKPOINT
    end
