    Cool Unanswered: what is the extension of db2 database

    hi

    Iam new to db2 udb 8.1/windows 2000.In sqlserver the database will be stored in the extension employee.mdf.In the same way i want to know what is the extension of db2 database and in which directory i can see that.

    Hai,
    Search for a Db2/node0000 folder in ur drives.In this folder u will find folders with the following names SQL0001,sql0002,...,SQL000x if u have x databases.each will have the data files and log files .
    I hope u were searching for this.

    SMS tablespaces:

    Extenstion for tabes : dat
    Indexes : inx
    large objects : lba

    DMS Tablespaces:

    They are stored in the file or raw device container internally and are not separate files ....

    Administration Guide has details on these files + log files + cfg files in one of the chapters ... I remember it is admin guide - planning ....
