Unanswered: Converting unix time into something readable

I'm having trouble converting a standard unix-time format value into something that's actually readable.

I have a large number that's actually the number of seconds since
1970-01-01 00:00:00 (I think so) until now. I really don't know the date converting rules and exceptions well, so I doubt I could write a correct conversion on my own.

Three o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 30, 1996 is 830898000 seconds. (at least I've been told so)

Does anyone know if I can find a function or stored procedure somewhere that can convert this 830898000 value into something that's readable?

I'd be grateful for any help with this..

EDIT: Okay, I should've tried searching some more on those forums. I got what I needed, don't bother about this one. It's really pretty simple: select dateadd(ss, <timestamp>, '1/1/1970') and you got something that's nice and readable.
