    Exclamation Unanswered: Error Compiling Stored Procedure

    Hi There,

    I am still new to DB2 stored procedures and i am having endless problems creating one. I am using command center and i did run a fixpack.

    First i had problems with my termination character, that is now fixed thanks to this forum, now i have a new error whils creating this simple sp.

    create procedure sp_tmp ( in p_in varchar(10), out p_out varchar(10) )
    language sql
    begin
    set p_out = p_in;
    end@

    The error message is:
    <snip>
    SQL0035N The file "P8204124.msg
    " cannot be opened.

    Explanation:

    The message file "<name>" could not be opened.

    Binding or precompilation has been terminated.

    User Response:

    Ensure that the system can access the file.
    </snip>

    Any idea what this could mean?
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Herman,
    What OS are you running on? What I suspect is that the
    user you are using to create the SP does not have proper rights
    to the directory where DB2 puts the SP files. If you are
    using Linux, use the instance owner for creating SPs.
