    Unanswered: flush package cache dyanmic

In UDB v8 this parameter can be set to flush the package cache of dyanmic sql??
Can anyone highlight more pros and cons of use of this parameter and any recommendation as to how to use it?Any documentation anywhere

    Re: flush package cache dyanmic

The package cache contains dynamic SQL Statements and access plans ... These access plans are dependent on various parameters including some config parameters which can be changed online(sortheap for example) ....

Ideally, when you change sortheap, db2 should automatically invalidate the dynamic sql statements in the package cache which involves sort .... But for some reason, this has not been done ... So, you will need to flush the package cache ....

In short, to enable the Statements in the package cache to make of changed values, you will need to flush the package cache, so that the next execution of the SQL Statement causes db2 to create a new access plan ...
