Unanswered: The use of WITH (ROWLOCK)
I'm using a cursor in a stored procedure to update quite alot of records in one of my tables, but I'm somewhat concerned that sql-server will issue a table-lock because the rows updated can be quite many at times. How can I force it to only lock one row at a time? I have never used WITH (ROWLOCK) before but I think this is what i need...can you guys give me any examples please?
