Hi:

Windows 2000
Oracle8i
Stand alone pc:
My user name has all granted priviledges.

Earlier I was runing a job and then I tried to remove the job. The job was not running according to dba_jobs_running view, but this is the first time I got the sqlplus session unresponsive.

begin
dbms_jobs.remove(3);
end;
/

That locked my sqlplus session. I had to Ctrl+Alt+Del my Sqlplus session, kill the listener, then restart the listener and restart sqlplus. I then go to the V$session view and kill the use session. Then I created a procedure called Hello.

create or replace procedure hello as
begin
dbms_output.put_line('hello!');
end;
/

Whenever I run it, it locks my oracle session and renders it unresponsive. I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del my Sqlplus session, kill the listener, then restart the listener and restart sqlplus. I then go to the V$session view and kill the session. It does that every time and I don't know what to do. Can anyone give a clue as to what is causing this or maybe tell where to look to diagnose the problem and remedy it?

Regards,

Alex
