Unanswered: Time out - buffer latch type 4 error

    Running SQL Server 2000 SP2 (8.00.718)
on Windows 2000 Advanced Server 5.0.2195

My extraction job fails giving me the following error
    Error: 845
Time-out occured while waiting for buffer latch type 4 for page (8:3769810)
    database ID 8. Severity 17, State 1

I looked at the related KB - 303640 and 309093. It states that the error could occur if I have awe enabled but I do *not* have it enabled. It also states that the problem was corrected in SP2 but I have SP2 and the error still occurs.

Anyone encounter a similar problem? Any solution?

    Thanks,
    Vinod

If SQL Server does carry over with no other errors then nothing to worry about. These are marely shows disk subsystem is uanbel to keep the level of i/o and performance that SQL resourcing. So you need to keep an eye on NT Event viewer for any errors on HDD/SCSI and keep a monitor tool to refer thru.

For information refer thru these KB Article1 and KB Article 2.
