    Unanswered: Transcation Log is Full

    Hi,

What command can be issued to see the status and space occupied by Transation log. Moreover, if the Transcation Log is Full, how can the space be cleared.
    Thanks,
    Gulshan

    Re: Transcation Log is Full

To see, your logging settings :

db2 get db cfg for <dbname>

You will need to check the values for LOGPRIMARY, LOGSECONDARY, LOGFILSIZ, LOGRETAIN and USEREXIT

To check the current status of the logfiles :

db2 get db cfg for <dbname>
    'First Active Log File'

    and

db2 get snapshot for database on <dbname>

Log space available to the database (Bytes)= 1224000000
Log space used by the database (Bytes) = 0
Maximum secondary log space used (Bytes) = 0
Maximum total log space used (Bytes) = 47085
Secondary logs allocated currently = 0
    Log pages read = 1
    Log pages written = 38
Appl id holding the oldest transaction = 0

To clear the space, do a commit or rollback ...

    Cheers
