    Unanswered: lost info, urgent

    Hello:

I accidentally deleted a .bak file. I could recover it but when I try to restore it on the base of data, it present the following error:

    ---------------------------------------------

    Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)

    Error: 3241

The media family on device 'E:\Backup\ACNIelsen_25_04_03.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE FILELIST is terminating abnormally

    ---------------------------------------------

I think that the file should have a problem, but their size seems correct. Does any form exist of repairing this file or of extracting their information?

Please, I need their help urgent.

    thank you

    P.D. Excuseme by my English

Are you sure you've recovered it or that it was a valid backup file in the first place.

Taking a backup does not guarantee that it can be restored - only a restore will do that.
