    Unanswered: db2 drop problem

    Hi ,

We are facing problem with drop db command. Previously this command gives error -
User name and password supplied is not correct.
After that we found in one of the forums that we should use command UNCATALOG DB then CATALOG DB before using drop db command to drop that database. But after executing commands UNCATALOG DB and CATALOG DB the DROP command comes with error
SQL1013N the database alias name or database MALL could not be found.

Note:- This database is created by WCS installation. We are using DB2 7.1.0

    Please reply to rajeeva.tiwari@hpsglobal.com

    Please help.

    Thanks

    Re: db2 drop problem

I'm surprised that someone in a forums has recommended UNCATALOG/CATALOG for dropping a database ...

    Well, anyway ...

What platform are you on ?

What is the full text of the command you used to uncatalog and catalog the database ?

Did you by any chance delete db2 related files from the OS ..

Post the output of the following commands :

    If you are on windows,
    do

db2 list db directory on C:

If you are on Unix, do

db2 list db directory on <home-dir of instance>

    Cheers
