    Question Unanswered: reorg

We are trying to reclaim space by reorgs. UDB EEE 7.2 fp 7 on aix433

1] To reorg a table in udbeee, do we need to create a tempspace which can hold the entire table and index on each node and some extra space for sorting?
2] If we have multiple indexes on a table and the table needs to be reorganised and we do not have index tablespaces defined, is it beneficial to drop all indexes and reorg the table and then recreate the indexes - or would this be too time consuming and really not offer that much of a benefit?

    Re: reorg

In version 7.2, the indexes would not be reorganized. If you want to reorg your indexes, you must drop and recreate them.

You need sufficient tempspace to hold a copy of the table data for that node.

I don't see any benefit to dropping indexes before reorg. Indeed, you may want to reorg according to your most heavily used index.
