    Unanswered: Autopopulate table fields

I have a DeptName field in a table that will drive other fields in the table, including Organization and Sub Organization. I want the user to be able to choose a DeptName in the table and then have the Organization and Sub Organization fields automatically populate based on that DeptName. I have created a separate table with the possible DeptName-Organization-SubOrganization combinations and have tried the DLookUp function but I can't get it to work properly. Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

i'm not sure if access can auto populate the fields but if you use a combo box you can then populate the combo with a query that selects the right possibilities, to reffer to a value in a form you use the [forms]![<FormName>]![<ObjectOnFormName>]

eg [forms]![tempform]![combo1] will use the value in the object called 'combo1' on the form called 'tempform' note that the form has to be open for this to work
