Unanswered: Detecting (and displaying) repeated data in a field

    Hello,

This one may be really simple... but is stumping me.

I have a table that stores file information. Each record has a unique identifier (ie. and autonumber) and a file number. The same file numbers may be entered in more than one record (as users may have to re-register a file for good reasons, or due to error).

I need to create a query (or at least a report) that can display only those file numbers that are repeated, so that an administrator can personally review the files and determine if the repeat is justifiable (and adjust dates accordingly etc.).

    Cheers,

    Richard.

    Try the "Find Duplicates" Query.

If that isn't what you need, post back.

    Thanks Michael...

Looking at the SQL created from that wizard has shown me where I was going wrong.

    Cheers,

    Richard.
