Unanswered: SQL Server Merge Replication rowguid

We setup a Merge Replication with SQL Server 2000 DB. About a day ago, we found there is a record missing, and we need to insert the missing record manually. My question is, is there a way to generate the value for the rowguid column? I heard there is a system stored procedure that does it, but I can't seem to find it. Any advice is appreciated.

Sorry to hijack your post, but I have an issue with replication where the rowguid and msrepl_tran_version fields on my (replicated) database dont get set to is rowguid true. Any advice on this one ? (apart from chucking replication in the bin where it belongs ?)
