    Unanswered: SQL Slammer Question

Are there documented instances of SQL 2000 SP3 being infected with the SQL Slammer virus? I have 6 servers all running SQL 2000 SP3. All have been patched since February 1 (and before that, I had installed the hotfix that was supposed to prevent SLAMMER-style viruses).

Last night, my corporate network got hit really hard. I got a call this morning from one of the network admins saying that two of my six servers were infected. He said he had run a utility and found the problem in RAM.

I'm not convinced, since a number of different tools were being used (some from CA, some from Symantec, some from Microsoft).

All of my systems are running normally now; but my admin says that's because he removed the virus. If anyone could shed any light on this for me, I would be grateful.

Best bet is to check MS SQL site for information and articles on SLAMMER.
