    Unanswered: Damaged recovery history file

    Hello!
    My env:
    Bill Gates NT 4.0
    UDB 6.1
I noticed this very interesting type of error:
Backup of database failed because of damaged recovery history file
    (db2rhist.asc).
Renaming db2rhist.asc do not help me.
Also, there is solution to restore only recovery history file.
In most cases, that restore failed because of damaged recovery history file.
But,the worst thing is after that, entire database is in restore pending state, activation and connection failed with
SQL1119N A connection to or activation of database "DBZAP" cannot be made because a previous restore is incomplete. SQLSTATE=57019.
and, again, restore of entire database failed bacause of damaged recovery file.
Only one solution works, but it is useless for bussines requirements:
    Drop database,and restore,so I cannot do rollforward.
Is anybody has some expirience about that?

I don't see why you cannot do a rollforward, as long as you have all the logs ...

My suggestion will be to use a test environment and restore the database and then do logshipping from the current corrupted db to the new db and do a rollforward, do prelim tests on it to ensure you are happy with the data and then make a full offline backup of the test db and restore it into the current corrupt db ...

    HTH

    Cheers

BTW, Zvonimir , are you aware that IBM no longer supports V6.1 installations ....

Hence you are at risk if you loose your prod data .....

    Even 7.2's ends in Mar 04 ...
