    Thumbs up

    Your listener.ora file is not correct. It should be like that:

    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = mohan-2k)(PORT = 1521))
    )

    LISTENER_MOHAN =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = mohan-2k)(PORT = 1528))
    )

    SID_LIST_MOHAN =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = demo)
    (ORACLE_HOME = ...... enter the absolute path here .......)
    (SID_NAME = demo)
    )
    )

    Hope that helps,

    Hi mohan,
    i don't see much problem with your listener.ora.
    Below is the sample listener.ora for one of my test database.
    My listener name is test.
    in u'r file under the sid_list_mohan i don't see th Oracle_home parameter.

    Anyawy i don't think that is the only problem.
    Just check if u can loginto the database using the service name demo from sql plus.also try giving th ip address in the host parameter.
    let me know if this doen't work

    # LISTENER.ORA Network Configuration File: D:\Oracle\Ora81\NETWORK\ADMIN\listener.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    SID_LIST_TEST =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = mydb)
    (ORACLE_HOME = D:\Oracle\Ora81)
    (SID_NAME = tst)
    )
    )

    TEST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = dbadmin)(PORT = 2482))
    )

    SAVE_CONFIG_ON_STOP_TEST = TRUE
    Cheers
