Question Unanswered: Problem with DB2 Personal Connect 7.2

    Hi guys!
I'm italian, sorry but I don't speak english very well. I've a problem with DB2 Connect Personal Edition 7.2 on Windows 2000: When I try to configure a new database with 'Client Configuration Assistant' -> 'Add Database Wizard' (step 5). In the 'Database name' field and 'Database alias' field I can't write more than 8 characters! Why?
I've try to installing the FixPack9 but I don't succeed to resolve the problem! Help me, please.
    Thank you.

    Personal..

Your dbname HAVE to contain AT MOST eight characters.
It is one of UDB restrictions.
You can find interesting thigs in
    Administration Guide,Appendix A. Naming Rules

Thanks, I've read the Administration guide - Naming rules and I've find this: "Database, database alias and instance names can have up to 8 bytes."
    (???)

    I think that they think
    1 (common) character = 1 byte

Never mind,I never succesfully named my db if there are more then
    8 characters.

8 character is maximum number of characters for database name!
