    Hi,

The above mentioned problem has been solved.

But during the Linking process, I received the following error.

"Error in invoking target install of makefile
    /home/oracle/product/9.2.0/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk"

I have installed jdk118_v3. and I am having following necessary rpm installed.

    gcc-2.96-110
    cpp-2.96-110
    glibc-devel-2.2.5-34
    glibc-kernheaders-2.4-7.14
    binutils-2.11.93.0.2-11

I would appreciate if someone can help me out in this case.

    Thanks.

    Hings

    Hi,

I have experienced this problem on RedHat 7.3 and 8.0.

If you look in $ORACLE_HOME/install/make.log, this should give you some indication as to what is going wrong.

Do not click ignore, it will break stuff!

For more information I would recommend the following site

    http://puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml

The solution is to add a flag to one of the lines of the makefile, but I can't remember what off the top of my head, the link give solutions to the many things that can go wrong when installing Oracle on RedHat

    Hope this helps

    Chris
