Unanswered: SQLAgent is not allowed to run.

I am getting stumped on this one. I have a win2003 machine with MSDE SP3 installed on it from Sharepoint Team Services. I have poked and prodded SQLAgent to start, but I keep getting the message "SQLAgent is not allowed to run." I can get this error from the service control manager every time regardless of whether I try to run as LocalSystem, or as a domain user who is in the local admin group.

I attempted to run SQLAgent from the command line with the following command:
    SQLAGENT /c /v /i SHAREPOINT
where sharepoint is the named instance of MSDE. I get this output from SQLAGENT:

2003-05-13 14:36:25 - ! [LOG] SQLAgent is not allowed to run
    2003-05-13 14:36:26 - ? [098] SQLServerAgent terminated (normally)

I will take any advice up to and including "SQLAgent never works with MSDE". Thanks in advance.

SQL Server Agent will definately work in MSDE.

Have you removed 'BUILTIN\Administrators' login from SQL Server? What service account SQL Server Agent configured to run?

    Allen, thanks for your reply.

BUILTIN\Administrators still exists and is a sysadmin.

I get the error message whether I run as LocalSystem, or as a domain account that has admin privileges on the server.
