Question Unanswered: New to Oracle - Advice

    Hi,

I have five years experience working with databases (SQL Server, mySQL and ms Access) but my next project involves working with Oracle for the first time (I'll need set up a basic Oracle database and talk to it from Microsoft .Net front-end). I need to get up and running as fast as possible. Can anyone recommend some good books, sites, and also does Oracle come with a graphical front-end like SQL Server's Enterprise Manager, and if not can I get a 3rd party one?

    Thanks,
    Nicky

You need to pore over the documentation , all of which can be found here:

    http://technet.oracle.com/docs/produ...ase2/index.htm

You should definitely read the Concepts guide, and depending on your needs the Administrators guide and Application Developer's Guide - Fundamentals.

The best book I know about Oracle is "Expert One On One Oracle" by Tom Kyte (Wrox). Tom Kyte also runs an excellent website:
