    Unanswered: sample init.ora file in unix

    i am using Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 under solaris
    but i can't seem to find the sample init.ora file that i can find in Windows Version.

    and one can shed some light on it?

    Normally should be under the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory

    Version 9 databases created using the database configuration assistant (dbca) uses the spfile which is found in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/ifile.

    Use OEM to edit the initialization parameters. if you really want, you can create a pfile from the spfile: using OEM you would highlight the databases CONFIGURATION item, and then select the OBJECTS--- > creeat pfile.
