    With the version of DB2 you are using, you cannot do this. DB2 does not allow for federated updates in V7.x. I believe that that will be available in version 8 (either currently or in a fixpack due out this year). Please check with IBM to be sure when.

    Hi Harish,

    I wish to make connection to AS/400 DB2 from a NT System.

    Class.forName("COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver");
    //Class.forName("com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver");
    //Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:db2://(ipaddress or hostname):6789/databasename","userid","password");

    i am using db2java.zip which is taken after installation of DB2 UDB on
    AIX

    I am getting the following Exception.

    COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2Exception: [IBM][JDBC Driver] CLI0616E Error opening socket. SQLSTATE=08S01

    This happens if the DB2 JDBC Applet Server is not running. You need start this service.

    Is this service is same as DB2JSTRT?

    If so, is it available in AS/400 DB2.

    If so, how to start this service.

    If not what is the way to get Connection?
