    Unanswered: Encryption

Does Access have any built in Encryption functions?

I have used a bit of PHP, and occasionally use the MD5() function to encrypt passwords and so forth. Does Access have anything similar?
All I want to do is encrypt a string, and email it without it being easily recognised. (The encryption only needs to be one-way)

If not, does anyone know of a reasonably secure encryption function for VBA?

    Thanks

    Nick

yes - you can encrypt an MDB fiel and I believe it is to D.O.D standards (whatever they are) you will take about a 15% performance hit on procedures and events but here is the catch

Unless you creatre a new mdw file - you leave the database open to security holes.
