I am in corporate IT where we use Oracle as our database of choice. We are providing access to some of that data to some of the business "techies" who use SQL Server. To protect our server, we are giving them a stored procedure that will return a REF CURSOR but can only be executed on a limited basis (once per 15 minutes). My question is can SQL Server read the REF CURSOR directly (across a REMOTE SERVER connection), or do the techies need to develop an external application that connects to both databases to transfer the data?
