I am running Windows 2000 Server. I already have SQL Server 2000 Installed and running properly on my system but i can't get MSDE 2000 to install.

Everytime i run threw the MSDE setup i have to re-install SQL Server.

Why do you need both on the same server?

My software is designed to work for both large and small companies. The smaller companies do not want to buy SQL Server so we offer them an MSDE package instead. Using these 2 databases reduces the amount of coding that i have to do so it works out great for me.

Right now i have 2 servers (1 is running SQL Server and the other MSDE). I would like to have both of them installed on the same Server.

Is this possible or do i have to keep running the 2 server this way??

I haven't tried to install both on the same machine, but I will repeate my original question, why would you do this?

Any software written for MSDE will work with SQL 2k, the differences are in the number of supported connections and mainly memory usage.
