    Unanswered: Need to import records from Excel

    So, this is pretty Access 101, I know, but if anyone can offer advice/examples of importing data from another source, I'd really appreciate it. I'm just looking for some code to clone/change to do lots of the looping and error checking for me. Here's the situation. We have some spreadsheets that, naturally, are not de-normalized. I'd like to take the data from the spreadsheet and create records in Access in normalized table structures. If anyone has any code I could use as a starting point, that would be great. Particularly if it has any kind of small parameter entry form that asks the user where the source data is, which columns should be imported, etc. I know it's a lot to ask for, but I"ll take what I can get.

    do you want it done automatically (just click a button or something) or do it manually? if manually, pls use built-in access import data tools. if auto, need some vb codes but largely depends on excel strustures
