    Unanswered: Sybase 12.5 - build master failed

    I have installed Sybase 12.5.0.1 on Linux and try to building ASE.

    Check that the OS user you are logged in as to build the ASE has write permissions to the directory you want to create your master device in, i.e. (/opt/sybase-12.5/m). Also it is a good idea to use better naming conventions e.g. master_dev.dat

    check the shared memory parameters and the disk space required to create the master & other system database devices.
