    Unanswered: Help me find the Version and patche applied for my Database

    Hi all,
    I just am new to this enviornment.I have an MySql running on AIX.I just need to know the version of MySQL and the patches Applied to it.
    Is it to qurey the database to find the version and patchno as in Oracle and SQL Server.

    I need help because i need to present a report.

    have you tried command: mysqladmin version

    Is this command to be used in the os promt or MySQL promt

    well, i dont know anything about AIX OS, so cant be more detail. i once installed mysql on my SCO OSR5 long time ago, the command can be run in mysql folder at os prompt. if i remember exactly, login as root, at OS prompt, cd to mysql folder and the command would go like this:

    ./bin/mysqladmin version
