Unanswered: ORA-03121: no interface driver connected function not performed

Have set oracle up on a Client pc V7. connecting to a V7. DB

When installing oracle to start with the wrong client was installed so we uninstalled this client and installed the correct one

When trying to login to the software package which connects via ODBC to our V7. DB I get the following error.

ORA-03121: no interface driver connected function not performed

Think it may be due to the TNS names not caching or the environmental controls pointing to the wrong location, or could this be down to a driver missmatch

    Any ideas

I would attempt to make a connection to the database from the client
with SQLPlus to start off with. That way you know that you can
establish connection to the database (knock out 1 possibility)
Then move on to ODBC ... Are you using the Oracle ODBC drivers
or the Microsoft for Oracle drivers ... I would check both out ...
