    Unanswered: MDW power?!?

Hi is there anyone that use mdw for security???
Can you explain me how it can be use???
The problem that i have now is that whene i open access i have to login even if the db that i open is not user-level-s configured.
So how can i use MDW only for the db that i want???

    Thanks!

To get rid of the Security log in for all databases you need to use the Workgroup Administrator to change the security file back to the one that's (probably) in c:\winnt\system32\system.mdw

I'm using Win 2000 but it should be in your default system folder.

In order to get a specific database to use a specific security file you will need to put a reference to it in the command line. I'm not usre of the syntax for this (I use the packing wizard 'cos I'm lazy) but if you look in the help under startup options and then command line options it'll say.

    Hope I was some help.

You need to create a shortcut to your database. Then edit the shortcut properties...

    Change the target to:
    "<drive>:\<pathtoMSACCESS.exe>\msaccess.exe" /wrkgrp "<drive>:\<pathtoyourMDW>\YourDatabase.mdw" "C:\<pathtoyourMDB>\YourDatabase.mdb"
