    Unanswered: Chat and Forum

I have two databases , one for my website and one for my forum , both using MySQL .

Once you login to my site , you have many choices including my forum !
So how can I connect the two databases or connect two programs to express that I was login to both systems and my USER ID appears in my forum without login the second time ??
    Can U help me ?

Use session variables (ASP) or some other form of serverside variables to store whether a user is or isn't logged in.

Or the login script would need to first connect to database1 and then connect to database2. You cannot simultaneously connect to two databases, but you can connect sequentially within the same code.

on my site I log them in with the forum login system and then set a session variable that marks the particular user as logged in.
