Unanswered: Table field left align using !

I've got an Access database with a date field in, and I want the column to be left aligned. I've read through the help menu and it tells me to put ! in the format for that field, but when I tried that it sent all the numbers in the filed haywire - completely unrecognizable!

Why is this doing this to me and how do I fix it?

    Thanks!

Do I take I from the non-response that no-one actually knows?

Guess not : your problem is not recreatable.
I tried it out on a table and the ! in the formatting field works just fine : all numbers becone left aligned.
(By the way, thanks for this tip. Didn't know that one yet)

It seems that the problem is in your database (corrupted?) and not in the way you work.....

I guess that's encouraging at least!

Is there any way to check if my data is corrupted?

Access Help says you can't use ! to format date/time fields. You can left align a date field in a query by defining a new field, such as:
    LeftAlignedDate: Mid([MyTableDate],1,8)
    This works for me.
