Unanswered: How to migrate a database from Windows plate-form to Unix

    Hello,

I have to migrate an oracle database from a windows plate-forme to
a Unix-Solaris plateforme and i would like to know what's the best way to do it.

I have to migrate data, packages, procedures and triggers.

    - I want to use SQL*Loader for data and my questions are :

How can i send data from an oracle database to a flat file in order
to use SQL*Loader on unix plate-form to load my data ?

How can i create scripts for packages, stored proc and trigger in the source database in order to execute them on the target database on Unix plate-form.

    any help is appreciated,

if there is an other way to do this migration, tell it to me.

    Thanks in advance,

Looak at Oracles export and import utilities. they work wonderfully for this type of thing.

Have you considered using export/import utility?

You could use export/import for the schema objects (option ROWS=N) and if you actually NEED to use sqlloader for the data, then use something like the attached script.
