    Im running DB2 V 7.2 on AIX 4.3.3.

    TIA

Thanks for the answer, what Im trying to do is to find out some statements that might have crashed the database and who issued them.

I will see if I can find any documents for the DB2 Recovery Expert.

    Thanks

    Re: Reading transacion log

I doubt Recovery Expert will be of any help ...

If your db instance crashed, there should be a few dump files in your sqllib/db2dump directory ... Some of them are ASCII ... If you are very desperate, you can get IBM to read the dump files/logs ...

    Cheers

    Re: Reading transacion log

You can do two other things besides checking the db2diag.log and db2alert.log files for transaction messages:

    1. run a db2trc - you can find information on using the tool on IBM tech support site

    2. run the db2dart utility - this generates a detail report on your DB2 database very useful for diagnosing problem spots.

    Hope this helps.
