    Unanswered: user_exit

    Hello again,

I have one question - maybe someone knows. I have changed logretain parameter to my db to ON before a month, but now I want to change user_exit parameter to ON too. Do I have to make another backup that this change becomes true?
I think that this is not necessary because my db already has logretain set to ON. I ask this because backup lasts for hours...

    Thank you,
    NNicole

    Hi,
By setting user_exit on, enables the UDB to call this program to move the transaction log files to a different destination like tape or any other backup filesystem...

    Thanks

    Problem solved

    Hello
I solved the "problem", and this is the result if someone find this information usefull:

First I changed logretain from OFF to ON, still leaving userexit OFF (before one month). To set this I needed to do offline backup of my db. I did backup.
Last night I changed userexit to ON, and for this I didn't need backup. Changing userexit to ON didn't leave my db in backup pending state.

    Greetings
