    Unanswered: Total newbie question

So SQL Server uses .mdf files, and I need to work with a database I created in Access. Access creates .mdb files. Could someone explain the difference between the two, and more importantly, how do I make or convert to a .mdf file?

    Thanks a lot

you would just use DTS to import the access database into SQL server. In Enterprise Manager theres a button that says 'Data Transformation Services' under 'Tools'. click this and select 'Import Data'. Simple really!
