Question Unanswered: silent install completion notification

On Windows, I'd like to do a silent install of 9i as part of
a broader application install, and know when the oracle
component is complete. When I kick off setup.exe with
my response file, it returns relatively immediately while
the actual installation takes some time. Anyone dealt with
    this issue?

Well, I'm underwhelmed by the usefullness of this forum. However, in case any other hapless soul is trying to solve this problem, I have found some reasonably good info: On the Oracle Database install disk #1, in the install directory, there is a file called oraparam.ini which contains a parameter called BOOTSTRAP which is initially set to TRUE. Setting this to FALSE will cause install\win32\setup.exe to wait for the install to complete. Of course, editing a file on CD is somewhat difficult, so copies of this file, setup.exe, as well as the JRE and OUI components need to be copied elsewhere first. The JRE and OUT location params in oraparam.ini should be edited to reflect this.

Cool Re: silent install completion notification

For 10g OUI , runInstaller or setup.exe has to be invoked with the - waitforcompletion flag.

    Eg: ./runInstaller -waitforcompletion
