Unanswered: Oracle Graphical Client for Development/Administration

I have a question regarding Oracle graphical client used for remote database development/administration.

I have gone through the TOAD webpages and have looked at the features that they provide in various products such as TOAD professional, TOAD expert SUITE etc.

But I wanted to ask you all whether there is any better ORACLE client software existing other than TOAD.

One limitation of TOAD that I know of is that it runs only on Windows platform.

I have gone through TORA Oracle client webpages also.

But I am not sure at this stage which Oracle client to choose.

It would be a great help if somebody could suggest me on this.

I am using both. Toad seems to have a better grid display, but in the end, I think TOra is more powerful. In Toad, you cannot see the hex value for a blob datum, for example; but you can with TOra. Also you cannot see all the sys/system tables even though you are a DBA of that database, TOra allows you to do that. I am eagerly waitng for TOra 1.4.0 right now...

Both crashes sometimes. Toad more often.

    Hope this helps.

I use TOAD and PL/SQL Developer. both are rated as one of the best tools...
But don't forget sqlplus, that's the ultimate tool.(Least prone to a crash, never heard of it)
    Hope that helped...
