    Arrow Unanswered: Mail from Oracle

    Hi
    I am trying to send email from my sql code

    as

    DECLARE
    l_mailhost VARCHAR2(255) := 'www.abc.com';
    l_mail_conn utl_smtp.connection;
    BEGIN
    l_mail_conn := utl_smtp.open_connection( l_mailhost );
    utl_smtp.helo(l_mail_conn, l_mailhost);
    utl_smtp.mail(l_mail_conn, 'aruneesh@abc.com');
    utl_smtp.rcpt(l_mail_conn, 'aruneeshsalhotra@yahoo.com');
    utl_smtp.open_data(l_mail_conn);
    utl_smtp.write_data(l_mail_conn,'Hello there');
    utl_smtp.close_data(l_mail_conn);
    utl_smtp.quit(l_mail_conn);
    END;
    /

    But I am getting the following errors.

    ORA-29540: class oracle/plsql/net/TCPConnection does not exist
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 537
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_TCP", line 199
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_SMTP", line 102
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_SMTP", line 121
    ORA-06512: at line 5

    I dont see many people with this experience or expsosure.
    I would appreciate your response.

    You don't say what version of oracle you are using, but there were some versions that got shipped with a bad plsql.jar file, it was missing that class. I have attached a plsql.jar file that I had to use with 8.1.7 (I had to rename it to attach it, so you'll have to change it back, ie, remove the .rar). You might try renaming your old one and putting this one in instead.
