    Unanswered: How to call DOS COmmands from PL/SQL code

    Hi,

    Can anyone suggest me how to write the code to call a DOS Command from PL/SQL block of code??

    Yes,
    If you are using Oracle8! then
    you can use "external procedure" to call OS commands from PL/SQL
    In order to call external procedure you must complete the following steps:
    1.Code the procedure in C and compile it into a shared library/DLL(in win nt)

    2.Configure the sql.net parameter files and start the listener.

    3.Create a library dada dictionary object ti represnt the operating system library

    4.Create a wrapper procedure in pl/sql that maps the pl/sql parameters to C parameters.
