Arrow Unanswered: JRE eats up Oracle restart

    Hi,
I restarted Oracle, and all of a sudden, I got two processes "jre" which are eating up the server, and parent of these two processes is "Oracle".

Does anyone has any ideas on this.
    I would appreciate your response.

JRE = Java Runtime Environment. Anything beginning with J is always resource-hungry for some reason

I don't really know the answer here, but generally I find when I start up Oracle on my PC at home a lot of processes get started and consume a lot of memory. Then after 2-3 minutes it all settles down.

    Restarted Oracle ... JRE continues

    Hi Andrew
The process continued to be there.
Then I brought the whole machine down, and now it is fine.
But still I couldnt figure out where the process came into the picture all of a sudden, and was not willing to kill itself.
    Thanx and Regards
