    Exclamation Unanswered: Oracle Management Server

    Hi
I wanted to know what is an OMS and what are its benefits over a standalone connection to the DB.
I start the SQL worksheet and it gives me two radio options. Connect to the OMS or connect to the DB directly.
I am not sure about the OMS part.

I would appreciate if one could give me the benefits and the purpose of the OMS. I know by the name, it would be more of a centralized database of all registered DBs.
    Thanx and Regards

OMS is good for certain things. If you have a number of DBA's with separate responsiblities or want to automate backups and recovery processes. SEE OTN.com
