Question Unanswered: SQL 6.5 to 2000 upgrade

I'm working to upgrade from SQL 6.5 to 2000 each running on separate machines.

My question is can I run the upgrade more than once. I'm planning to test the upgrade process but then at a later point need to run it again as a live upgrade.

Will I need to drop all of the databases on the 2000 machine and then rerun the upgrade or does it even require more work than this.

    Thank you.

One of the more annoying things I have found about the upgrade with two separate machines, is that the upgrade process will bring the 6.5 SQL Server down for a period of time (depending on how much data you have, etc., so you will have to be careful, if you only get to play with a live server.

As for the upgrade itself, we had no major problems, but I did insist on creating all of the SQL 2000 databases beforehand, so I could split up logs and data portions. Good luck.

Thank you for your post. Does anyone have any comments on the ability to run the upgrade more than once?
