    Question Unanswered: finding and displaying a specific record

    Dear Friends,
    I have a form.I used the form wizard to populate all the controls with data.For navigation thru the records,i use docmd.gotorecord ,,,acNext and other similar statements.
    Here is my question.I cant use bookmarks.I have an unique ID in the table.Now if i want to display the specific record,given the ID,how do i do that?
    In other words,the user enters the ID in the form and then i have to display the record corresponding to that ID.
    I cudnt use Docmd.gotorecord ,,acGoTo,some offset , because i dont know the offset.
    Your valuable suggestions are requested.

    Regards
    Shan

    The standard approach as Access provides with the wizard for a combo box lookup is
    Code:
    Me.RecordsetClone.FindFirst "[MyID] = " & Me![ctlSelectRecord]
    Me.Bookmark = Me.RecordsetClone.Bookmark
