i dont think there is a Max size. I beleve the configuration of your hardware and if u are clustering servers or not would be the best determination of that. With the right hardware config i have heard of databases that managed terabites of disk. How big were u thinking of getting?

Ensuring the appropriate physical amount of disk space to store the data and indexes. Refer thru books online for more information on size of databases.
