    Unanswered: 8.1.7 initjvm script failed

    We just ran the javavm/install/initjvm.sql script and everything went well until:

    ...
    SQL> create role javadebugpriv;

    Role created.

    SQL>
    SQL>
    SQL> -- Load all the Java classes
    SQL> -- Java Sanity check for installation
    SQL> -- Define package dbms_java
    SQL> @@initjvm2
    SQL> -- subscript for initjvm.sql and ilk
    SQL>
    SQL> -- Load all the Java classes
    SQL> create or replace java system;
    2 /
    create or replace java system;
    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29509: incorrectly formed Java binary class definition

    Does anyone have any wisdom, please? This is the first EVER attempt by anyone here to initialize the JVM for Oracle 8.1.7 on Solaris.

    INITJVM

    Hi
    I am also interested in getting more information on the initjvm step.
    Last week, I was trying to view all the scripts around, and couldnt get much info on the initjvm step, as to why it may be used, and what is the purpose of JVM in oracle.
    Thanx and Regards
    Aruneesh
